City and Guilds provide a number of qualifications relevant to the electrical industry.
The three most relevant and popular are the 2330 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology, the 2382 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671: January 2008), which was formerly the 2381 and the 2391 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations. There is also the recently introduced City and Guilds 2392 Certificate in Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations.
The 2381 qualification was one of City and Guilds most popular and
essential qualifications for practicing electricians and the same can be said for it’s replacement qualification, the 2382.
The 2391 qualification has also undergone recent changes due to being updated to the new 17th edition wiring regulations. This means that the old qualification codes have changed and the new codes are:
• 2391-10 Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (previously 2391-01)
• 2391-20 Level 3 Certificate in Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations (previously 2391-02 and prior to that 2400)
The City and Guilds 2330 qualification is available at levels 2 and 3 and can be considered another essential electrical qualification.
