Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

The City and Guilds 2395 is a new qualification that, in conjunction with the 2394, serves to replace the previous 2391 qualification.

The qualification has been split into the 2394, which covers initial verification and certification and the 2395 which covers periodic inspection and testing.

As this qualification is a little more advanced, ideally candidates would have previously completed the 2394 or 2392 qualifications. The 2395 may also be suitable for more experienced electricians and will provide the requirements for testing a wide range of installations from domestic to commercial.

The 2395 qualification will also allow you to inspect and test installations that are 'existing', rather than new and which have been installed by other electricians.

This qualification serves to make a difficult subject a little easier, and the 2395 is a very worthwhile electrical qualification that illustrates a high degree of competence in the field of inspection and testing.

Five credits must be successfully achieved for this qualification, which will be awarded on the satisfactory completion of the three mandatory units. If you’ve already passed the 2394, then you already have the online exam under your belt, as it’s the same.

2395 Units

Principles, practices and legislation for the the periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of electrical installations

301 - Online multiple-choice exam on the e-volve interface.

     (Same as 2394)

302 - Written exam

303 - Practical Assignment

As this is the most current inspection and testing qualification from City and Guilds, it is well worth considering for any electrician who intends to carry out any form of inspection and testing work, whether in a commercial or a domestic environment.
