Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations

The 2394 is a new qualification from City and Guilds that replaces a component of the original 2391 qualification.

Perhaps due to the difficulty of the 2391, it has now been split into two separate qualifications which are numbered 2394 and 2395. There is also a 2396, more details of which can be found on this website.

The 2394 course criteria has similarities to the 2392, but additionally covers three phase installations.

This is generally a qualification for practising electricians who may have little inspection and testing experience or may be recently qualified. Those entering the electrical trade for the first time, perhaps from a different trade such as plubing or kitchen fitting, may also find this qualification a good entry point.

The 2394 focuses on the initial verification and certification of new electrical installations.

This is a Level 3 qualification, so candidates with limited or no inspection and testing experience may wish to consider the 2392 fundamental inspection and testing qualification first as this qualification does not have the added complexity of three phase installations.

The 2395 qualification follows on nicely from the 2394 and both these qualifications have the same online exam, so once you've passed it for the 2394, you also have it for the 2395 inspection and testing.

The learner must achieve five credits to pass the 2394, and the five credits will be awarded on the satisfactory completion of the three mandatory units.
