The 2377 qualification is endorsed by Summit Skills and is aimed at those with administrative responsibilities for the maintenance of electrical equipment or those involved in the inspection and testing of electrical equipment who wish to gain a suitable qualification.

Many electricians add the 2377 qualification to their credentials and take on PAT Testing contracts for landlords, businesses, hotels etc. in order to provide an addition source of business revenue.

The 2377 exam is an ‘open book’ exam, meaning that you can take a copy of the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment into the exam with you and refer to it to answer your multiple choice exam.

In Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment

The City and Guilds 2377 or PAT Testing qualification is actually two separate qualifications and, depending on your requirements, you would likely choose one of the two options, although some learners wish to take both.

2377-22 Level 3 Award in the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT)
